MOOSE RIVER OUTPOST MAPLE PRODUCTS
We are proud to now offer our very own Maple Syrup made right here at Moose River Outpost. Now you can enjoy a little something "SWEET" from MRO every morning. MRO Maple Syrup is made from sap gathered from all of our beautiful maple trees here on site. While walking through our woods you may have seen some blue and black tubing running through the forest. The tubing you see is either a sap line, conductor line, or a main line. These lines bring sap from the tap in the tree down the long hill to the Sugar Camp. Sap straight from the tree is 1-3% sugar, at the Sugar Camp the sap is put through 2 processes to make syrup which is 66-68% sugar. First, the sap is put through a RO machine. In the RO machine, water is separated from the sap, after being 'ROed', sap is 10-14% sugar. Second, the sap is boiled to 219 degrees in an evaporator before it can be bottled as maple syrup. We then let it cool before sending it straight to you as yummy goodness that can be poured all over things such as pancakes, ice cream, corn bread, beans, popcorn, and many other things. We hope that our maple syrup is a way to remind you of God's goodness here at Moose River Outpost.
