Mission-
Our Mission at Moose River Outpost is to introduce people to Jesus Christ in such a compelling fashion that they will come to know Him as both Lord and Savior. Our primary means of carrying out this mission is through the operation of residential camps that provide a healthy, safe and challenging educational experience for both children and young adults. We will also use our God-given talents and facilities to assist and support other organizations that share our mission, as long as this does not interfere with our primary purpose.
Then-
Established in 1888 as Heald Pond hunting camps, Moose River Outpost is one of the oldest wilderness resorts in Maine. The land was purchased privately by Ken Olson, a Christian businessman with a heart for the Lord’s work from Boston. In the late nineties he donated 7000 acres of land surrounding Heald Pond in Moose River, Maine to Christian Camps and Conferences, Inc. His intent was that this beautiful spot would be used for the Glorification of God and the furthering of His Kingdom.
Now-
For the past three years Moose River Outpost has been operating as a Christian Adventure Center providing summer youth camping and seasonal retreating and conferencing for a variety of Christian groups. We have seen God bless us with a consistent 25% growth rate per year in the camping programs and a 50% growth rate per year with our retreating and conferencing groups.
Tomorrow-
Moose River Outpost, with the partnership of Windfall Outdoor Center, a Rafting, Rock climbing, and Kayak Company aims to be the Christian Adventure leader in Maine, New England and the East Coast. With Windfall’s professional guided adventure trips and the wide variety of activities and amenities offered at Moose River Outpost, God has positioned us to lead in the worshiping of Him through His Creation.
